At Glass Resort, nature is more than just a beautiful backdrop. It is the foundation of everything we do. Located in the heart of Finnish Lapland, surrounded by pure arctic wilderness, we are deeply aware of our responsibility to protect this unique environment for future generations.

Built with Nature in Mind

Our apartments are designed and constructed using sustainable, locally sourced materials that reflect the Scandinavian appreciation for simplicity, durability and harmony with nature. The architecture brings guests close to the surrounding landscape both visually and emotionally without compromising on comfort or quality.

The buildings are carefully positioned to minimize their footprint, and the surrounding forest remains undisturbed as much as possible.

Sustainable Energy and Resource Use

All our buildings are heated using geothermal energy, one of the cleanest forms of heating available. We also use renewable green electricity, further reducing our carbon emissions. Our daily operations are guided by a continuous goal to optimize both energy and water use without compromising our guests’ comfort. Some of the key practices we follow include:

  • Guest awareness materials that encourage sustainable behavior
  • Energy-efficient lighting and appliances
  • Smart heating systems to avoid unnecessary consumption
  • Low-flow water fixtures to conserve water
  • Sauna timers to prevent excessive energy use

Minimizing Waste and Reducing Plastic

We actively work to reduce single-use plastics and unnecessary packaging across all areas of our resort. Guests are encouraged to refill bottles with Finland’s clean tap water, and to reuse towels and bathrobes to limit laundry-related water and energy use.

We provide recycling stations both in the apartments and in shared areas, and guide our guests in proper waste sorting. We also review our purchasing practices regularly to ensure we choose responsible materials and suppliers that share our environmental values.

Natural Aesthetics and Ethical Choices

From the interiors to the menu at our restaurant, we strive to create experiences that are both luxurious and ethical. Our design philosophy is rooted in Nordic minimalism, using natural materials and sustainable furnishings that reflect the calm of the surrounding landscape.

In our kitchen, we favor ingredients that are locally sourced, seasonal and as organic as possible. Lapland’s clean waters, wild forests and local producers provide the foundation for a culinary experience that respects both nature and health.

Shared Responsibility

We invite all our guests to take part in protecting Lapland’s fragile environment. Even small actions can make a difference. We provide clear suggestions during your stay to help reduce environmental impact together. Your participation matters, and we are grateful for every conscious choice you make.
