The architecture and interiors of Glass Resort are shaped by a quiet philosophy: beauty should serve both purpose and presence. Our spaces are shaped by our family’s love of construction, an eye for detail, and a deep respect for Lapland’s natural beauty. The result is a quiet, immersive experience where light, texture, and silence work in harmony with the nature.

Rooted in Tradition, Refined for Today

The architectural concept is inspired by the traditional Sámi kota: timber-framed dwellings once used by reindeer herders. That legacy lives on in the sharp silhouettes, vertical space, and large windows that open toward the forest and sky. Founder Petri Palkinen worked with architect Paolo Caravello to bring this concept to life, shaping the buildings and floorplans to reflect both Sámi heritage and modern Nordic sensibility. The buildings were constructed by Honkatalot, known for their high-quality Finnish timber architecture and sustainable craftsmanship.

A Personal Touch in Every Space

Interior design is led by Minna Palkinen, co-founder of Glass Resort, who has thoughtfully crafted each space to feel harmonious, beautiful, and deeply functional. Every element from the flow of the layout to the smallest details is chosen to create a sense of calm and clarity. Soft textiles in natural fibres like wool, carefully designed lighting, and acoustic materials like wood and felt contribute to a warm and grounded atmosphere. The color palette is drawn from nature. Quiet, earthy, and timeless.

Carefully Built, Constantly Evolving

As a family-owned resort, we are closely involved in every aspect of design and upkeep. We take time to renovate, maintain, and imagine what could be better. Our relationship with architecture is ongoing, shaped by curiosity and care.

Design is not a background at Glass Resort. It is how we create space for silence, comfort, and beauty to meet.
